Dolnośląskie Surowce Skalne S.A. is a leading Polish crushed aggregate supplier. Major products offered by DSS include motorway and railway aggregate as well as aggregate used for the production of ready mixed concrete. DSS is one of the major aggregate suppliers for A1, A2 motorways and Wrocław Motorway By-pass.
The company extracts high quality amphibolite and migmatite deposits located in Piława Górna. Aggregate production is conducted in one of the largest and most modern processing plants in Europe. Quarry production capacity is currently characterized by 7.5 million tonnes annually.

Social responsibility and values
In its strategy, DSS stresses not only business development but also conducts its activities in the interests of local communities and environmental protection issues.
DSS is involved in various projects included in the scope of business social responsibility and first of all in the initiatives connected with improving road safety near Piława Górna. The company financed the purchase and installation of speed cameras and constructed a new road, bypassing nearby towns reducing the heavy traffic and the transportation of aggregate through populated areas.
DSS is an ecological company and technical solutions applied in the stationary processing plant are limited to minimize the negative influence of the quarry on the natural environment, eliminating harmful noise and liquidating the dusts formed in the production process.
In future when rock minerals processing is finished in the Piława Górna deposit in the place of the quarry the post excavation will be formed which shall naturally immerse in the environment and the water tank shall enhance the eco-system. These types of places are particularly attractive for birds which build their nests there. Even today the quarry has been favoured by kestrels.
